GERALD L COLBORNE- 1924 to 2007 Jerry has sailed on to a higher sea... He drifted away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2007 with his family by his side. Jerry was predeceased by his son Gary and grandson Michael. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Julia, son Terry (Diana) of Cockrane, AB, step-sons Len (Simone) of Wpg, Larry (Jackie) of Regina, Lloyd (Donna Sentes) of Thunder Bay, ON, grandsons Paul (Tona) Sentes of Wpg, Dean (Iona) Sentes of Calgary, Patrick Sentes of Regina, granddaughters Leila (Alan) Olinger, Kelsey Sentes (John), Tara Sentes (ON), great grandchildren Kristen, Alana, Devin, Matthew, Shane, Eric and Nicholas. Jerry was born in Fort William, Ontario. He served throughout W.W. II with the Royal Canadian Navy in the North Atlantic Theatre. Following the war service, Jerry attended University of Alberta, graduating with a B.S.C. in Mining Geology. He had a wide experience in exploration and development of Canada's mineral resources, having carried out programs in all provinces but P.E. I.. Jerry serviced with Saskatchewan Department of Mineral Resources before he joined the Saskatchewan Department of Industry and Commerce as Mineral Consultant, in 1967 he was appointed Deputy Minster. In 1967 he was awarded the Canada Centennial Medal for services to the nation. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
