Gerald Danishefsky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 24, 2025.
Gerald (Jerry) Danishefsky, 75, passed away on Saturday Jan. 18th from complications due to several issues. He was born to Leo and Eileen Danishefsky, the second of 7 children. Upon graduation from Hellgate High School, he joined the Army where he trained to be an electronics technician on cryptography equipment. He served for 3 years including a tour in Vietnam. His experience there haunted him later in life with a diagnoses of PTSD. He continued a career in electronics and was on the ground floor of the emergence of personal computers. He always had a curiosity regarding new technology and collected all the new toys. He was often kidded about waiting on the porch for the UPS driver to deliver his latest gadget. He was also an outspoken critic of a past and now future president. His comments on Facebook will be missed. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents a younger brother Patrick and former wife Rosie. He is survived by brothers Bernard (Sherry) and Michael and sisters Maureen Lawhon (Bruce), Anita Eldridge (Joe), and Gail Linnell, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Fifth Floor staff at St. Patrick's hospital. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will occur at a later date.
