Gerald Green Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 13 to Mar. 14, 2009.
GREEN, Dr. Gerald Robert March 16, 1930 - March 7, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad in hospital, Herbert, Saskatchewan on March 7, 2009, in his 79th year. Son of the late Walter and Isabelle Green, brother of the late Isobel Johnston and survived by his sister, Kathryn Lancaster, Longview, Texas. Much loved Dad of Judy, Tom (Mandy), Sandra (Duncan Anderson), Marjorie (Darin McCorriston) & Diana (Gary Cashman). Grampa Green to Jayme, Matthew, Rebecca, Jenna, Clinton, Jessie & Abby. Our heartfelt thanks to Lorne Esau, Dr. S. Kassett and the caring nursing staff at the Herbert & District Hospital. Dad loved to write novels and poetry, dixieland music and most of all, he loved being a doctor. His generosity and kindness will be remembered by many. In memory of our Dad, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Herbert & District Hospital, 405 Herbert Ave. Box 520, Herbert, SA, S0H 2A0 would be appreciated. Rest in peace Dad. We will love you and miss you always.

Dear Sandy, As you know, i had the pleasure of working for your dad for 3 years, he was without doubt one of the most caring doctors i have seen.
I always admired how you were always there for hiim during good times & bad, he was very lucky to have had your unconditional love all those years he lived in Ottawa.
I know how hard this must be for you. With your busy life i know you wished you could have been there with him at the end.
Take comfort in the fact that you were there year after year through thick or thin, whenever he needed you. He had faith in you & it is what we do for each other while we are living that counts in this life. I know he loved you very much, he often told me that. Cherish the memories you have of him, my thoughts are with you at this sad time, sincerely, Lynda Holt

" Green Family"
The write up on your dad was so descriptive as it is very difficult to put a lifetime in a few words.
I worked with him at Pontiac Community Hospital and have good memories.

To Dr. Green's entire family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of your father and grandfather. He was an incredible doctor, but more importantly, an amazing and truly exceptional human being.

A voice from your past, Max and I will always remember your dad for his care of us and my mother during good health and bad. He was an excellent physician and very humble about his prowess. He always said that medicine was the size of a huge moon and that doctors knew as much as the size of a dime. He was never against getting a second opinion, which most doctors won't admit to needing. I hope you have many pleasant memories to cherish.

Fondly, Phyllis and Max

My sympathy is extended to the family of Dr. Green. He was our family doctor when three of our children were born. He was an excellent doctor with a pleasant smile and bedside manner. He was greatly missed when he left Shawville.

Dear family

I was so saddened to hear of Gerry's passing and wanted to write to share my condolences.

As a Chiropractor for 43 years in Shawville and then Ottawa, I referred many patients to him with great confidence. He was so skilled in his profession and no time was wasted. I sincerely missed having him here when he retired.

I pray that God gives each of you the strength and confidence needed in the days ahead.

Sincerely,

Mary Kilgour

My sympathy to the Green family. My most vivid of Dr. Green was the day he rushed to our Kdg Class (Victoria Ave. Shawville) to repair Tommy's nose bleed. May your memories help you during these sad days. Sincerely
