Gerald Hardy Obituary
MARION: Gerald E. Hardy, age 74, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning June 9, 2015.
Throughout his life 74 years of life he has touched many lives. His career began early as a farmer, then became a manager for Landmark in New Bloomington and Monette. His real journey began when he became self employed as a woodworker. He was wonderful at putting his special touch in every job he did. Gerald's sence of humor will never be forgotten. Laughter always filled a room he was in, more than anything he enjoyed being a husband and fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hardy of 55 years. Also survived by his mother, Thelma Whimer; his son, Jeff (Heather Smith) Hardy; grandchildren, Heidi Hardy, Amber (Jarad) Hayes, Josh Smith, Gregg Hardy; great grandchildren, Dominic Paz, Rylan Paz, Kylie Brown, Kayden Paz, Brayden Hayes and Brycen Hardy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hardy; daughter, Patricia Hardy; brother, Gene Hardy; and his favorite uncle, Walter Hardy.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Hord officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jarad Hayes, Amber Hayes, Heidi Harper, Greg Hardy, Dominic Paz and Lowell Taylor.
