Gerald was a self-employed barber, resident of Stockton, Calif., & native of Maringouin, La. Passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, at his residence at the age of 71. Visitation service Friday, January 15, 2016, at A. Wesley's Funeral Home, 10810 Ventress Dr., Maringouin, La., from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Religious Service Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11140 Highway 77, Maringouin, La. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. conducted by Fr. Suchit Paul, I.M.S., pastor. Interment: Catholic Church Cemetery. Gerald is survived by his daughter, La Crecia Hawkins; a son, Willie Hawkins; a sister in law, Ruby Hawkins; three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives & friends. Funeral Director Burnadeen Poole. Professional Services Entrusted To A. Wesley Funeral Home.

My sincere condolences to the Hawkins family. I will miss our monthly telephone calls and catching up on each of our families. Gerald was a grand storyteller of the happenings of his life. I will miss our uncontrollable laughs, our recipes, and talking about the Lord. Rest In Peace, Brother Gerald. Farewell until we meet again.
