Dena Robbins
September 3, 2019
I was married to Jerry, (the guy with the diamond in his beard) for 61 long and wonderful years. I wouldn't have traded or changed a minute and he truly was a really special human being - my love, my pillar of support, truly a guy larger than life, and my best friend. And I was his best friend.
I want to thank each and every person who added to his obituary.you have made our family so grateful that you have all recognized what a gem he was, even from miles and oceans away. THANK YOU!!

Wow, stunning to get this news. My heart goes out to all of the Robbins clan, he will be missed. I looked up to him as a father figure at times when I was first starting out in Philly. Great guy, great sense of humor and smart as a whip!

Jerry was a true visionary and innovator who in large part and with his marketing talents and business savy helped shape Philadelphia's Jewelers Row.
As well he developed systems which to this day are emulated by others helping to lead them to success and growth. Someone else here referred to Jerry as a force of nature. I couldn't agree more.
To Gordon, Jason and the rest of the Robbins family, my condolences to you during this tough time.

Jerry Robbins was my mentor, he was the greatest person I could have ever hoped to meet in this lifetime. I am 'somebody ' because of people like Jerry Robins and I will be in dept of gratitude for all eternity. He left his spirit and the many things he taught me when we last spoke and not a day goes by that I don't use something I learned from Jerry. My heartfelt condolences to the Robbins Family, I love you all.

Jerry...
Larger than life in both stature and style.. you were truly one of a kind. You were a teacher and mentor that always had your eye on that prize... always "selling the sizzle", a great boss, and whenever I needed it, you were a friend to confide in. You and I have had a few long talks on religion, family and the meaning that we find in our lives as we make our way through... and I've taken away lessons that have and will continue to change the way I take on life. For That, I will always be grateful.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your beautiful family. Rest Easy my Friend

Jerry really was a GEM! I was privileged and lucky enough to work at Robbins 8th and Walnut in the 1990's and Jerry took me - really all of us employees - under his wing. He was a genius at marketing and sales, developing a master plan to make the sales of diamonds more transparent to customers which was the total opposite of what other jewelers did - then and still now - in selling diamonds with a microscope instead of just a loupe.
Jerry never rested on his success and was always striving to do better. For some employees, his penchant for change and innovation was a challenge to keep up with, but for me, it was an environment in which I felt "engaged" (haha) and in which I thrived.
He had a great and quirky sense of humor. Tall and with a deep resonant voice he did his own commercials with humor and style.
In my years since I left the company, and especially in places I've worked since leaving, I'd find myself in a situation time and again where Jerry would pop into my mind, as would the lessons I learned from him. I was so very lucky to have worked with him and to get to know so many of you in your family.
As we go through life, it's inevitable that we lose people as time passes. It's never easy to say goodbye, but one of the things that comfort me often is to refocus my attention on the time and memories of the past, to be so very thankful that I had the great fortune of being in the presence of someone who was so very special.
Condolences to the family. Gordon, Skosh, Jason, Mindy and Dena. To Ron and Toni To the grandchildren and other family members. He was such a great blessing as a mentor and teacher in my life. He's one that I can list as a credit with my professional development. He was also a person I considered a friend.
Sincere condolences for your loss. He was a genuinely good man.
