Geraldine Demoran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 31, 2023.
Geraldine Mattie Demoran, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and friend to many; was born on October 15, 1932 in Columbia, Alabama. She joined our Heavenly Father on May 14, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. How fitting for God to call her home on Mother's Day for she had, over her lifetime, been a mother to many. Her love of people and children in general, kept her door open continually to anyone in need of a meal, a safe place to rest their head, and encouragement to be strong because they were special. Known to many as Grandma or Gerry, she was a long time resident of Redmond, moving here in 1966. Being an entrepreneur of many trades, her main job was raising her six children as a single parent. Working in the food industry was her trade. She worked at Abbys Pizza as assistant manager for many years until her retirement well into her 70s. She loved the public and they adored her as well. She also loved cooking her favorite Southern dishes for her family, loved the coast and seeing the ocean, playing the lottery, going for drives around Central Oregon, and she loved her ice cream treats. Geraldine is survived by her six children, Laqueta Gail Taggart of Redmond, Oregon, Kathleen Marie Rollins of Folson, California, Alvin Joseph Demoran Jr. of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Carol Ann Henderson of Redmond, Oregon, Bonnie Sue Demoran of Redmond, Oregon, and Kenneth John Demoran of Redmond, Oregon, her adoring grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her adored mother, Ruby Kelly, her brother, Louis (Bud) Knight, and her sister, Jacqueline Coker. There will be a Celebration of Life on her 91st birthday, October 15, 2023. The time and event schedule will be announced.

I first met Gerry and her family when I was 5 and I remained friends with them since then. Gerry always had a heart of gold for everyone, I don't think she ever met a stranger. May she rest in peace until the resurrection. You will be miss Gerry by everyone that you touched in your life

Mom, you were always my light when I needed to find my way in dark times. You were my confidante, my counselor, my best friend. You taught me how to love unconditionally. I feel you in every beat of my heart and with every breath I take. I am so thankful that God chose for me you to be my mother. It will be hard facing days ahead without you here but you also taught me strength and courage and I promise I won´t let you down. Until we are together again my beautiful Mama, rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus. I love you with all my heart and soul.

A very special lady indeed. She liked sharing stories with us at work (back in the day). We were all young kids and she taught us kindness, respect and love. She cared about everyone and everything. My heart is broken for your family. She will be greatly missed.

My Mama, you collected your little white crosses and went on your way. My heart is broken, my heart misses you, but my heart will hold all the memories of you forever. Thank you for sharing your love with so many. Thank you for making the world a better place. I will love you always.

My heart goes out to the whole family. She was an amazing loving woman. It breaks my heart that she's gone. I know she's with our Lord watching over all of you. May she rest in peace. Prayers for the family.

Geraldine had more love in her little finger than most have in their entire being! Many can take her place in life, but NONE will ever REPLACE HER. Think of her whenever you see a lavender rose, she will like that.

It still doesn't seem real that you are no longer here on this earth with us as you were a constant in all of our lives. Even though life wasn't easy for you, you made it look easy, never complaining about life's struggles. You were a great role model to everyone of all ages in life. You taught by example. You were truly one of a kind. Grandma, you're missed dearly! I love you so very much!

You were the best mother anyone could ever of had, you gave everything you possibly could to me and taught me everything that is good. I´m sure you are wearing a princess gown and crown singing your favorite songs to Jesus,I love you mama and it´s not goodbye it´s I will see you in a while.

Geri was such a loving caring person. She always had a smile and a kind word. She loved to watch us do gardening and enjoyed the fruits and veggies from our garden. Whenever we talked she always talked about her family and gardening. I will greatly miss chatting with her over the fence and the fellowship.
