Geraldine "Gerri" Havens (née Martin), age 103, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in
Stuart, Florida. Born on July 2, 1922, in Lakewood, New Jersey, Gerri lived a long and meaningful life shaped by her dedication to faith, family, and community. She was the daughter of John and Myrtle Martin, residing with them in Lakewood New Jersey, Point Pleasant New Jersey, Pennsgrove , New Jersey, and until her mother's passing, in her beloved Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.
A graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, New Jersey, Gerri began her professional career in bookkeeping. Her precision and attention to detail served her well across various business roles over the years. She also played an important role in the family business, where her thoughtful and disciplined approach left a lasting impression.
Gerri shared many decades of marriage with her beloved husband, Osbourne "Ozzie" Havens. Married in 1941, they enjoyed happy years together until his passing in 2004. Their enduring partnership began in the 1930s and was marked by deep companionship and mutual respect. They toiled together to create two dry cleaning businesses in both Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach in New Jersey, prior to retiring in their cherished community of
Stuart, Florida. Together they built a life grounded in unity and grace. Gerri was predeceased by her only sibling, Bernice Martin Kelly-Bedell, of Lakehurst, New Jersey who passed in 2017.
A devoted member of The First United Methodist Church of
Stuart, Florida, Gerri's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her spiritual commitment provided strength and comfort throughout the years and remained central to her identity.
Known for her kind and friendly nature, Gerri had a gift for forming lasting friendships. She took great joy in social gatherings and was always impeccably dressed-radiating warmth wherever she went. Whether dancing with friends or engaging in lively conversation, she brought charm and grace to every occasion.
An avid reader with a lifelong love of books, Gerri found joy in learning and reflection. Her passion for reading complemented her interest in bookkeeping-a pursuit she enjoyed both professionally and personally.
She is lovingly remembered by her niece Sharyn Kelly; nephew Steven Kelly; and niece Karen Robertson. Additionally, she is survived by three great nephews and a great niece. They are Dean Ebner (Donna), Scott Ebner( Nicole), Ryan Kelly (Alison), and Joanna Kelly. Additionally, she is survived by grandnephews Tyler Ebner, Quinn and Brooks Kelly, and grandnieces Shannon Ebner and Addison Kelly.
Remembrances and internment will occur at a later date in Brielle, New Jersey.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her-as a woman of elegance, faith, dedication, and warmth.
