5 years she's been gone...From time to time something triggers a childhood memory. Such as: During the war many things were in short supply. Our major complaint was no bubble gum. we would check out the little store by Bulls Eye Bridge which had been converted from a one room schoolhouse all that summer. We bugged the poor man until finally a huge box (probably a gross) of the fat wrapped pink gum came in.
He knew when the word got out he'd be inundated by swarms of kids so he offered to sell us the whole box. Somehow we came up with the money and took it home. Knowing we couldn't chew that much gum, we decided to go into business and took some of the gum to school to sell to classmates...we did and got back a bunch of money plus lots of bubble blowing.

Gary and Donna...How heavy your hearts are at this time..mine is too..Gerry and I were playmates on the Finson Rd. and had such fun times like going to the fair each summer with Pauline and my mother...sliding down the steep sides of an icy gravel pit wall on a thin piece of cardboard... playing jackstones straddling a granite memorial in the cemetery... ice skating on a pond that took us hours to clear of snow--after dragging shovels there through knee high snow... making igloo-like tunnels in huge snowdrifts, carving out tiny rooms... walking the massive beams high up in the barn....(Mothers didn't seem to worry about what the kids might be up to in those days).
Those are my memories I share with you. Love to you both.
