McGOWAN Gerard P. "Jerry," 69, of Mahwah, NJ passed away on April 10, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jerry resided in Mahwah and had been a longtime resident of Allendale. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and was a publisher of a magazine in New York for many years.He is survived by his wife Lenore, and a son Antony. He was predeceased by his mother Catherine, his father Patrick, his step mother Tess, his sisters Margaret, Catherine and his brother John. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church in Wyckoff, NJ. My deepest sympathies go out to Jerry's family. He was one of my favorite customers at Starbucks where I used to work. He was funny and so full of energy (probably from all of those venti black coffees!) and made everyone at Starbucks laugh and he expanded my scary movie collection as well. He was also a friend.
