Gertrude M. Healy

Gertrude M. (Lynch) Healy, age 91, of Holyoke, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicopee, daughter of the late John and Bella (Rivest) Lynch and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Gert was a 26 year cafeteria worker in the Holyoke Public School System, retiring in 2003. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in South Hadley. She is survived by three children, John Healy and his wife Kathy of Easthampton, Kathleen Bowler and her husband Tom of Holyoke, and David Healy and his wife Cindy of Holyoke, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Gert was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Lawless and Peg Sullivan and one brother, James Lynch. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley. Burial will be at a later date in St. Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gert to Hospice Lifecare or The Oncology Department at Holyoke Medical Center, both located at 575 Beech Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
