Dear Lois, Doris Don and families. Aunt Gertie was a heroine as Uncle Elmer was to many. Always kind, welcoming and warm to their family as well as their community at large. Aunt Gertie spared the rod but ruled with her wit, love and example and encouragement. Many a time when I stayed over or just popped in for a visit there was always the joy and love and deep concern shown for whatever was going on. She did more than she could all the time and sometimes I swear I wonder when she rested. A warm loving home is now hers in heaven.

Our sincere and heart felt thoughts to Gerties family. Gert will be sadly missed by anyone that she touched in her lifetime. We have such fond memories of her love and kindness.
Bev often recalls being picked up from the bus route in the cold of winter by Uncle and being often delivered to there home, always with a warm & loving smile and of course with loads of delicious homemade goodies. She didn't want to go home! When we think of Gertie, we think of a kind and loving person filled with compassion and joy. Gertie was always so positive, she just made u feel good to be around her. When u ever visited her, u felt special, u never left without a happy belly & looking forward to the next visit. She was truly a good & wonderful person, she was our
