Gertrude Marie Sidora, 86, of Kittanning, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at her residence. Born Jan. 22, 1923, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Ada Dowling Karns. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ford City. Mrs. Sidora formerly worked at Jamesway and Lawn Haven Burial Estates. She was a former quilter with Bloom Gals. She enjoyed family picnics and sewing. Above all else, she was family oriented. Mom's life was her family. She especially loved the holidays, when her family got together. She was loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Sidora, on March 8, 2001; seven brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Sidora, of Beaver, James and Penny Sidora, of Seneca, Pa., and Thomas and Judy Sidora, of Beaver Falls; two daughters and sons-in-law, Saundra and Nicholas Odrey, of Bethlehem, Pa., and Kathleen and Jeffrey Pompe, of Florence, S.C.; four grandchildren, Michael and wife Ariel Kaufman Kissick, Shelley Sidora, Christie and husband Theodore Pham, and Andrew and wife Dawn Sidora; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kaufman Kissick and Callie Jean Sidora; a brother, Kenneth Karns, of Kittanning; and a sister, Imogene Transue, of Kittanning. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the MANTINI FUNERAL HOME INC., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. Prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ford City, with Father John Gribik as celebrant. Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Holy Name Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Parastas will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
