Gertrude Thompson Obituary
Gertrude Jean Thompson, 81 of Bayfield, Colorado, passed away February 16, 2015.
She was born to William and Dorothy Sawyer April 3, 1933 in Denver, Colorado. Trudy was united in marriage to Elmer J. Thompson November 13, 1952, in Prescott, Arizona, they shared the love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Although she was passionate about bowling her first love was her family. She always loved the visits from her families both near and far especially grandchildren and great-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William, Ken, and Arthur, and their baby girl. Gertrude is survived by her husband, Elmer, Sons, Marvin and Margo Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, Roy and Allison Thompson of Canton, Texas, Dale and Sandra Thompson of Watson, Missouri, and daughter Debra and Jim Applegate of Durango, Colorado, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial will be held.
Service will be held at a later date.

Sending our thoughts and prayers. One of my favorite memories: my sister, Mom, and myself piled into your Mom's vw to go deliver newspapers and had to turn around in the dark on a small ledge that turned out to be on the edge of a very steep hill!! I know Mom and your Mom laughed about it a lot. I have nice memories of your family and ours from years past. (I also remember that HEAVY buffalo skin you guys had!)
