Gertrude E. Wiltz, 101, of Venetia, formerly of Cecil, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.She was born October 14, 1912, in Manifold, a daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Funka Davis.In 1934, she was married in St. Mary Parish in Cecil. She was a member of St. Benedict the Abbot in McMurray, Hilltoppers in Cecil, Canonsburg Senior Citizen and the Canonsburg Bowling Team she organized in 1975.Mrs. Wiltz worked at Federal Supply No. 60 and both post offices in Lawrence. She then worked as a psychiatric aide at Mayview State Hospital for 27 years, until she retired.Surviving are a daughter, Marian (Ron) Selva of Venetia; two grandchildren, Wendy (Tom) Marnik of McMurray and Deborah (Todd) Patnesky of Manassas, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Carly, Abby and Alex Marnik and Matthew and Grace Patnesky; a sister-in-law, Pat Davis of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.Deceased are her husband, Armilde Wiltz, who died April 16, 1981; three sisters, Eleanor Benefield, Alberta Steiner and Marian Winburg; and three brothers, Harry, John "Jack" Sr. and PFC Lawrence Davis.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where parting prayers will be said at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray, with Father Adam Verona officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Notre Dame Mausoleum, Peters Township.Contributions may be made to St. Benedict the Abbot Building Fund, 120 Abington Drive, McMurray, PA 15317, or Washington City Mission, 84 West Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
