I worked with Gilbert "Pep" for several years at the Louisiana School for the Deaf. He LOVED his LSD kids and was a mentor to many of them (whether they participated in sports or not). He will be missed. I am praying for God's peace and comfort for his family at this time.

One day I walked into his classroom for my first detention ever n he was shocked hahaha n asked me what am I doing here i said paper says i got detention for be tardy 3 times lol he culdnt believe it n fuss me in a silly type of way n told me to go sit down hahaha... he was such a good man he very hilarious he protected his students guide the boys to do the right thing n his words of wisdom always stayed with me since high school he will never be forgotten I want to express my condolences to the family

He was my football, basketball, and track coach at Louisiana school for the deaf Also Gilbert and I came from West Monroe, La. We always called "homeboy" to each other. Also he was my co-worker at deaf school. Gonna miss him.
