Gil was born and raised in Rutherford, NJ. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII as Quartermaster on a minesweeper in the Pacific. After returning from service he went on to continue his education at Brown University, Fairleigh Dickenson and St. Peter's College.
Gil worked in the financial printing industry at Sorg Printing Company, a national financial printer. He began as a part-time shop employee to Sales Manager, President and CEO.
