Mr & Mrs Vuono and Erin, I am so sorry to hear that Gina had passed. She contacted me several years ago and I learned of her MS. I have not talked to you folks for over 10 years and I have since moved back to Ohio. I sincerely wish you and your family the best and want you to know that you are in my prayers.

Mr and Mrs Vuono,
I have only known for a couple days... My eyes keep watering and I can't believe I can't have another day with Gina. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling. Gina really loved the three of you. I wish you the best...
I am glad you chose that picture. Gina did really good white water rafting and had a really good time. Missing her...

Mr. and Mrs. Vuono & Erin, I am just in shock and truly saddened to discover Gina has been suffering a terrible disease and has lost her battle. It's been about 5 years since I last spoke with Gina...just after the birth of my first son. Even though it was our first conversation in a few years, it was like we were still best friends...I'll never forget how excited she was for me. Unfortunately, we fell out of touch again and that was the last I got to talk with her.

I just traveled to Pgh for a visit and couldn't find her in the phone book--so I decided to try to look her up on the internet tonight. Obviously, this was unexpected.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you worried and cared for Gina for all these years, and when we last talked, she spoke of how amazing you were in your unconditional love and support.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to look her up. I will pray for her--and for you all. If you ever need a happy or funny high school memory, don't hesitate to contact me.

With my deepest sympathy,
Coleen (Riley) Cutchember

Thinking of you at this difficult time of the passing of Gina.

I did not know Gina personally but knew of her MS and living on her own.

Her photo says it all, and one can see in her beautiful smile that she was a strong and courageous person.

Dear Coleen, Erin, and Rob,
Words are inadequate and probably only time may bring comfort. We don't pretend to know what you are feeling now, but we hope that the pain of these difficult years will, with time, be replaced by the memory of better, joyful times with Gina. Despite her difficulties, Gina surely knew she was always supported by a loving family. Love, Barb and Lee

I wanted to tell you how sorry I was to hear about the loss of Gina. Katie told me a lot of wonderful stories about times she spent with her and stories about Gina that made me laugh. I only met her a few times, but I knew her enough to know she was a wonderful person. I hope you find comfort in the many many wonderful memories you have of Gina.

Aunt Coleen and Erin,
I can't explain how sad I was to hear about Gina. I remember how excited I was when I was younger... knowing I was coming to spend the weekend with my wonderful aunt and my two cousins who I looked up to so much. I remember days spent at the public pool, at the movies, at family get togethers, and days watching Gina study. She was so smart and funny and she always treated me so nicely when I was younger and then as a friend as we grew older. Now I have another quality to add to the list when I think of Gina... now I will remember how strong she was. I can't imagine how you must feel right now Aunt Coleen, but know that I love you very much.

Coleen, Rob and Erin,
Years ago Parker Drive was the place to play. Kids were everywhere. The boys outnumbered the girls but the two, too cute Vuono girls were the brightest on the block. In all the years that followed nothing could change their style. And as for Gina, at the toughest of times she would still radiate with smiles that warmed the room and touched all hearts. In a day when heroes are forged on a battlefield or a ballfield, there are many of us who know that no one stood any taller and fought any harder than Gina Vuono.

Just know that the many friends you have made over the years share your grief, and pray for you in this time of sorrow. Dear Rob, Coleen and Erin; You may have to strain your memory to place me ; My name used to be Judy Simon and I lived next door to you in Mt. Lebo while I was in HS, 28 years ago(!). I babysat Gina and Erin for several years while they were toddlers. Just this morning as I was brushing my eldest daughter's hair I was telling her all about the 2 little girls with the long hair who loved M&M's . I was shocked to read about Gina. It sounds like she was an amazing young woman. I am very saddened for your loss. I will always remember Gina as a happy go lucky little girl with a ready smile and heart of gold.
