WILLIAMSBURG - Gladys A. Campbell passed away on Oct. 30, 2004, after a long illness. She was 84. She was born in Evergreen, Ala., but spent most of her adult life in Williamsburg, Va. She retired from The College of William & Mary after 20 years. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening and fishing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with her husband of 37 years, Armond Campbell. She outlived her husband by six years. The last year of her life, she resided in Duluth, Ga., to be near her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne McGuire and husband, Mike, of Duluth, Ga.; a son, Armond B. Campbell and wife, Linda, of Williamsburg; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in the Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Haywood officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middleground Blvd., Suite 154, Newport News, VA 23606. Bucktrout of Williamsburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Suzie: Really sorry to hear about Gladys. I worked with her at W&M in the Student Loan Office just before she retired (Debbie Matson at the time). Her, Armand, and Roberta and myself had some really good times together and I will miss her very, very much. Take Care!!
