Today while walking through the village, I stopped to rest on a park bench and feed my baby her bottle. As I sat there in a daze I felt a breeze brush by my check. Soft, cool, but at the same time warm. It enveloped me, overwhelming me with feelings... It was you.
All of a sudden I was brimming with emotions, all kinds, all different sorts.
A single tear ran down my face... It was you.
When I closed my eyes I could feel your hand brushing my cheek lovingly, as you had done so many times before, as I had done to you before your passing. I could feel you kiss my forehead, as you had done when I was a little girl, when I was sick, or sad... As I had done for you.
I sat there, trapped between what seemed like all the time in the world and no time at all. Thinking, just thinking. About you, about everything. About life...
It came to me suddenly, I had finally realized... I don’t need to own all of your possessions to remember you. What seemed so obvious, what everyone had been telling me all along, what you had told me yourself. It all finally made sense. I don’t need to live in your house to be near you.
You are everywhere, you are in everything I do. And you always will be...
Your in the cool spring breeze and the first bloom of the year,
in the cool and gentle summer rain,
the warmth of fall and in the twilight of the winter night sky.
It’s all you...
Your the insight in every meaningful conversation that I have and my voracious want to lern...
You are my want to listen, my shoulder to cry on, my voice of practicality and reason.
My willingness to forgive, my acceptance of others, my want for self-improvement...
I have so many reminders of the love you so graciously and proudly shared with me.
Most of all, every time I look at little Scarlette Rose, I SEE your love for her beaming through.
A piece of my heart will be yours, always.
Your not gone, now your simply everywhere I go.
