SOUTHINGTON - Gladys S. Leach, 88, of Southington, widow of Anthony T. Leach, passed away, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, with her family at her side.

She was born in Southington on March 23, 1922, the daughter of Martin Folcik and Jadwiga (Murdzek) Folcik. She lived all of her life in Southington and graduated from Lewis High School, Class of 1940. Employed by the Allied Control Company, she retired after 35 years of service. Gladys was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a longtime member of The Rosary Society, of which her mother was a charter member and its first president. She was happily married to her husband, Anthony, for 40 years and after he passed away, she volunteered at Bradley Memorial Hospital for 24 years, and accumulated over 4,000 hours of service.

Gladys was predeceased by her brothers, Adam, John, and Benjamin Folcik; and her sisters, Mary O'Hala, Julia Yaross, and Frances Kopcza. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Pozucek and her husband, Stan, of Southington; grandchildren, Stacy Pozucek and Michael McCaffrey, of South Kingstown, RI, Scott and Alicia Pozucek, of Orange; and many nieces and nephews. In her last years, her greatest joy was visiting and playing with great-grandchildren, Dillon and Grace Pozucek.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m., from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, in honor of Gladys Leach, 130 Summer St., Plantsville, CT 06479.
