To my dearest and only grandmother I have ever known and loved:
My grandmother (granny as I fondly called her) was a very wonderful woman - wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend!
She lived life to the fullest and always had a great sense of humour – her laughter always lit up the room and made everyone as happy as she was.
Losing my grandfather was very difficult but losing my grandmother was even harder. I had the greatest respect for her; for her wisdom and advice. She had class and dignity, something that I learned from her. I looked up to granny as a role model and I have tried to pattern myself after her.
After grandpa died, granny became the head of the Woodley family and she accepted this honour with grace and everyone looked up to her.
I visited my granny as often as I could (never enough) and we had wonderful tea parties and long talks while playing Spite and Malice or in the earlier years – hearts, cribbage, backgammon and Stock Ticker.
I also helped granny as often as I could by helping her around her home, something that we had fun doing together.
I loved going up to my grandparents’ cottage to help and to have fun! My dearest memories are of going to the cottage to spend time with my grandparents.
We will continue our tradition of Sunday tea with dad and set your place for you!
Granny, you will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Until we meet again,
Love, your first granddaughter,
Faith Grieve (nee Woodley)

Don and family
I was sorry to hear of the passing of Gladys. Gladys was blessed with a long life and a large family. You may experience pain and sorrow in the present, but in the future those feelings will be replaced with loving memories of a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Support each other and take comfort in the fact that Gladys will forever be present in your memories and in your hearts.
With our sympathy

To All the Family:
We were very saddened to hear about the loss of your Mom and Grandmother. We first met your Mom and Dad when we rented beside them in Holiday Park in Lakeland. We had many card games with them and always enjoyed their company and your Mom's laughter. She was a dear, sweet, lady and we know you will miss her. I know we miss them both in Holiday Park. We also copied, and gave your Uncle Jack a copy of the picture and notice in the Ottawa Citizen, as we live across the road from him in Holiday Park, Lakeland, Florida, during the winter months.
