Glen Moriyasu Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 17, 2025.
Glen Moriyasu, 61, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Wailuku, Hawaii. Born on October 14, 1963, in the same town he called home throughout his life, Glen's journey was one rooted in community, family, and enduring passions.

A proud graduate of Baldwin High School, Glen cherished his time there-especially his involvement in the school band, which remained a source of pride and fond memories throughout his life. He continued his education at the University of Hawaii, where he further deepened his love for learning and became a lifelong supporter of UH sports teams.

Glen's interests were as vibrant and varied as the island he called home. A devoted music lover, he often reflected on his high school band days with joy. His appreciation for classic television shows and movies brought him comfort and entertainment over the years. In more recent times, Glen found enjoyment in crafting dried meats, fruits, and snacks. He also had a soft spot for keiki baseball and could often be found cheering on young players with enthusiasm.

Fishing was another passion that brought Glen peace and connection to nature. He would reminisce about "the good old days" fishing with his dad, brother and uncles.

Glen's generosity touched many. Those who knew him remember his kind spirit and willingness to give without hesitation. His faith played a central role in his life; it provided strength during medical challenges and connected him deeply to his church community. That spiritual foundation offered him both solace and purpose.

He is survived by his mother Machiko (Otono) Moriyasu; brother Roy Moriyasu; sister-in-law Saundra Moriyasu; nephews Buck and Hunter; and niece Makanakai. Glen was preceded in death by his father, Shigeru "Porky" Moriyasu.

Glen's memory will live on through those who shared in his passion, kindness, and unwavering spirit. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him. A Visitation will be held on September 20, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Kahului Baptist Church on Puunene Avenue. A gathering for the Church Community will be held at 10:30am
