Glen Alan "Rock" Purchell, 59, of Little River, SC, and formerly of Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his residence.

Glen was born in Portsmouth, VA, son of Loisanne Long Purchell and the late Gordon Eugene Purchell.
Glen retired from the Washington Area Transit Authority, as a supervisor, after 30 years with the authority. He recently started a new job at a local marina as a forklift driver and was thoroughly enjoying his new beach life occupation. He loved fishing, scuba diving, spending time with his wife, Denise, collecting shark teeth and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his mother, Loisanne Purchell, he is survived by his wife, Denise Searfoss Purchell; daughter, Noel Blythe (Christopher) Banghart; step-sons, Dustin Berry (Tonya) Searfoss and Jonathan Lee (Jelayna) Searfoss; brother, Gordon Wade Purchell; sisters, Susan Anne (Doug) Hollenbeck and Robin Blythe (Dean) Baker; mother-in-law Linda Dodd (Dale "Poppy") Searfoss; brother and sister-in-law, Dondi (Bethany) Searfoss, Angie (Ricky) Mullins, Deana (Glenn) Everett, Danny (Michelle) Searfoss, George Frankie (Stephanie) Dodd; 20 nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren, Annabelle, Breckin, Noah, Aiden and Liam; and also Lil-bit, his mother's Chihuahua.

Services will be held at a later date with family and close friends.

With respect to his love of beaches, especially the Outer Banks, the family asks that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation be made to Corolla Wild Horse Fund Incorporated.

A guestbook is available at www.leefhandcrematory.com.

Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
