Glenda Bass Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2025.
Glenda Gail Bass, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, passed from our presence peacefully and went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 7, 1943, Glenda was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched many lives.

Glenda was born and raised in the Hipp family in San Antonio during WWII; here, she cultivated deep relationships and warm memories throughout her life, including an ever-present fondness for Elvis and his music. She dedicated herself to her family, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones and faithfully serving Jesus. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and support, her gentle spirit, and her bright smile.

She is survived by her two devoted daughters who will always carry their mother's love in their hearts: Gina Connor, wife of Chris Connor, and Jill Cuthbert, wife of Tom Cuthbert. Glenda was also a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren who affectionately called her "Mema": Colton Connor, Casen/Marlee Connor, Cassidy/Zach Hinchman, and Caryss Connor, and Pierson and Lexie Criner. Her grandchildren were a source of immense pride and happiness, and she cherished each moment spent with them playing games, tellingly make-believe stories of cat detectives, and sharing her faith.

Glenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her legacy of love, faith, and strength will forever live on through her family and friends.

Wonderful memories of Thanksgiving Dinners and Christmas Family get togethers. She always put together a beautiful table for us, the perfect hostess...making everyone feel comfortable and warm. Sweet sense of humor and she had an artful way of keeping the conversation light and smooth. Her beauty and happiness will be remembered. Always.

Glenda has been one of my favorite people since 1980. She's the classiest of all the classy people I've ever known . Her influence has been great and will continue on. She's asked me many times to play on the piano, "When we all get to heaven"... Well, "What a day of rejoicing that will be!!" Michael Sanford
