What a great friend was "Doc." She was brought in by Verda Herrington (BD at Alamo JHS, Midland) to drill the drummers in rudiments. I still remember how awed I was at Doc's extraordinary talent and and stick handling skill. Although I'm more of a jazz player now, I still have those same rudiments welded into my brain, now 60+ years later.
Thanks, Doc; you were cool before I ever knew what that means!

One of my "pets" is gone but I will always remember as through the years we remained in touch. Only a few months ago she called and was concerned about me. This is my "Doc" She has toooooo many memories to be forgotten. My sincere sympathy to the family. Billy Gilbreath

Always loved catching up, visiting and laughing with Doc out on the ranch. She had the best sense of humor and I felt she was my 2nd Mom. Will miss Doc tremendously!

What great lady! We had so much fun "arm-chair" coaching during the NCAA basketball finals and the Women's College World Series for softball. Having the honor of playing in the FUMC Praise Band and the Cousins Band with Doc was the most wonderful fun of all.
