Glenda Rush Campbell

Glenda Rush Campbell passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the age of 82. Born on August 28, 1941, in Chattanooga, she was a cherished member of the community and a beacon of joy and generosity to all who knew her.

Glenda's life was marked by her love for others, her quick wit, and her culinary prowess, especially during family gatherings and special occasions. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose legacy of warmth and kindness will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Campbell, son Brian Campbell, brother Don Rush, granddaughters Gracie Campbell and Virginia Campbell White, grandson Jude Rush, nephews Donnie Rush, Jack Rush III, Bill Rush, and Bobby Rush, nieces Rhonda Rush Clark, Jeanie Campbell, Suzanne Souders Lewis, and Kristie Souders, and great-grandson Wolfey Beach. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Grace and Jack Rush Sr., brother Jack Rush Jr., sister Betty Rush Robinson, and nephews Mike Campbell and Mike Rush, and niece Reni Rush Curtis.

Glenda had a vibrant career that spanned various roles, including notable stints as a salesperson at Clark Brothers Furniture, Panama City Toyota, and Rhodes Furniture, where her charismatic approach made her a beloved figure. Additionally, she served as a bartender and server at Mayo's Bar and Grill. Her remarkable day of selling nine vehicles at Panama City Toyota remains a proud highlight.

An active member of her community, Glenda was involved with several churches throughout her life, including Avondale Methodist Church, Lake Vista Methodist Church, White Oak Methodist Church, and First Presbyterian Church, where she participated wholeheartedly in community and spiritual activities.

Her hobbies included being a Southern Badminton Champion, playing women's fast-pitch softball, tennis, fishing, darts, and, most importantly, cooking and baking. These activities brought her immense joy and allowed her to connect with others in meaningful ways.

The visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on September 5, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Covenant Crematorium and Funeral in Chattanooga, Tennessee will be assisting the family during this time.

Glenda's life was a testament to her loving nature and her ability to make a positive impact on those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a pillar of her community and a loving figure in her family.
