Glenda Dixon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 2 to Aug. 4, 2017.
Glenda Gay (Campbell) Dixon, of Lufkin, died on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at CHI St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. She was 67. Glenda was born Jan. 1, 1950 in Corpus Christi to James and Muriel Campbell. In 1969 she married the love of her life, Charles Dixon, and together they had two children, Charlenda and Annisa. Charles (Chuck) was a career sailor, and for 23 years she traveled with him from one side of the country to the other, wherever the Navy sent him. A full-time housewife and mother, Glenda always knew she wanted a large family. Over the span of 20 years they served as foster parents for over 47 children, adopting 16 of them. Wherever she went, Glenda touched many lives and left many friends behind. Glenda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Chuck, daughters Charlenda (John) Richards, Belinda Cruz, Miriam Tomes, Ashley (Pat) Sanchez, Rachel Dixon, and sons Michael, Alex, Jacob, James, Joshua, Nathan, Jeremiah and Jacob Dixon, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Muriel (Breeden) Campbell, and daughters Christy Lynn and Annisa Leann. A memorial service will be held at O'Quinn Baptist Church on August 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. Cremation will be handled by Tims Funeral Home of Lufkin. The family wishes to thank Doctor Sid Epperson, Doctor Dixon, Doctor Huber and the nurses at CHI St. Luke's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenda's name can be made to the charity of your choice.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I am very sorry for your lost. I can imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved one, but its uplifting to know that God promises us in Isaiah 65:17 a near future in which not only we wont feel this horrid pain in our hearts when we lose a loved one, but we wont even remember how it felt.
