Glenda Faye Marion was born on December 12, 1951 in Lawrence County, Dublin Georgia to the late, Jim Henry and Dessie Mae Marion. She departed this life on January 11, 2021, at 70 years of age. Faye accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan under the leadership of the late Pastor Soloist Smith, Sr.
She attended the School District of Trustian County, Georgia, she relocated to Pontiac, Michigan in the early 80's. She worked many years as a Home Health Care Provider, she served faithfully as a choir member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday School, serving God was truly a part of her life.
She had many skills and hobbies. She loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she loved going to Church, singing and listening to music, playing cards, giving, helping others and lastly remembering the humor, laughter and great joyful moments shared with her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children, Bruce (Jody) Bernard Marion, LaShelle Smith and Jonathan Marion, all in Pontiac, Michigan, grandchildren; Monica Canady, April Simms, Hope Janay Marion, LaShay Smith, Shantelle Smith and Zayden & Zanae Williams. Great-grandmother of three, siblings; Jimmie Jewell Mithouse, Pearl L. Jackson and Eddie Marion, two loving devoted life time friends, Vernon Lewis and Olivia Hardiman. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Ms. Marion will lie in repose on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 394 Howland., Pontiac, Michigan. Family hour will start at 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
As a global concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general. Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.
It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 20 people with a distance of 6 feet.
May God continue to bless and strengthen all of you during this time.
