Glenda Faye Shekell (Allen) was born to the late George and Emma Allen. She was born July 6, 1936, in Heilman, Indiana. She also had a brother named David Allen. They moved to Dale Indiana where they opened their family store Allen's General Store. Glenda attended Dale High School where she graduated at the age of 16. She then went on to get her Nursing Degree at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN in 1956 where she successfully started her many years of nursing.

In 1946, Glenda was introduced to Jack Shekell of Newburgh Indiana at the wedding of his brother Bill & Opal Shekell. Years later they reconnected and married February 10, 1957. They began their life together and moved to San Diego, CA with just a little bit of money and a heart full of dreams. Glenda started working at Hillside Hospital in San Diego which followed a successful career at Sharp Hospital as a Surgical R.N. later as an R.N. for the State of California Health and Human Services. Jack worked at General Dynamics as an Engineer until 1964 when he ventured out and started Balboa Automotive Service and remained there for 43 years until 2007 when he retired.

Welcoming their 3 children, Jeffrey Allen Shekell, Terrance Lee Shekell and Stephanie Ann Shekell. They built their life with strong values and hard work. They settled in Fletcher Hills and created a beautiful life for themselves and their children. They enjoyed splitting their time in Palm Desert and Lake Arrowhead with family and friends. They also enjoyed traveling all over the world together.

Glenda is survived by her Husband Jack of 68 years, Children Jeff and wife Terrie, Terrance and wife Michelle and Stephanie and Husband Terry. She also leaves 2 Grandchildren Brandi and husband Eric Casillas and Lance and wife Heather Shekell. She also has 4 Great Grandchildren Maddyson, Tyler, Ryder and Brilyn.

Glenda will be deeply missed by her family and all who know her.

She will be celebrated March 30, 2024 @ The ZLAC Rowing Club in San Diego, CA.
