Glenda Warzynski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2022.
Glenda Lea (Blatchley) Warzynski, age 75, passed into His loving arms on September 15, 2022, after a fierce battle with cancer. She was determined to beat it, and she did. Glenda was born to Forrest and Leone (Warren) Blatchley December 5, 1946. She was raised looking up to her older brother, Gordie. While growing up the family moved around quite a bit as her dad was in the service and then worked on various highway building projects. The family finally settled in rural Coloma where she attended elementary school. She attended Westfield High School where she met, and then married her high school sweetheart, Bob on June 10, 1967. They lived in Norfolk, VA for about a year after they married, and then moved back home to Coloma to farm. They had two daughters, Jackie and Toni. Glenda worked with Bob on the farm as well as driving school bus, a job she loved with her whole heart. When they got out of farming she took on the job of school cook. She also took care of the books for Bob's trucking business.

She retired from her school positions in 2012 to enjoy time with Bob. They loved to just jump in the car and go for long drives through the country, or to Canada, or wherever they wanted to go. Glenda was a dedicated member of the South Burr Oak United Methodist Church. She taught Children's Sunday School for many years and served on the UMW group, most recently as President. Glenda was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2014, underwent chemo, then a stem cell transplant and was able to live life to its fullest for seven more years. Those seven years allowed her to see two granddaughters get married and three great grandchildren be born. She said she was so very blessed. Glenda was predeceased by her parents, Forrest and Leone, her brother Gordie, a nephew Jerry, and a great-granddaughter Kadance. She was wife to Robert Warzynski, Mom to Jackie (Kevin) Sigourney and Toni Hattabaugh, Auntie to Teresa Gunderson, Grandma to Amber (Adam) Grube, Levi Hedding, Claire (Andrew) Pooch, Ethan (Chris) Sigourney, and Damon Burrows. Her special job was to be 3G (Great-Grandma Glenda) to Edyn, Emmett, and Shia. Glenda is further survived by a multitude of family and friends. A visitation will take place at South Burr Oak Church near Coloma, on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10am to 1pm followed by a memorial service and luncheon.

Glenda was forever one of my favorite bus drivers! I loved riding her bus and being greeted by her in school when I was in grade school. She always had a smile on her face. I seen her a couple month ago and gave her a hug and chatted a bit. She is well loved by so many of us and will be greatly missed. R.I.P Glenda
