This Memorial Day marks the first anniversary of Glenn's journey to meet the Lord and rejoin his beloved Trish. What a delightful couple they were, and so loved by all who knew them. It was such a privilege to know both of them.

Glenn and I had a special bond through motorcycling --Trish would have no part of that activity-- maybe she's changed her mind Upstairs! (I hope God had a nice big Suzi waiting for him to ride all over Heaven.)

Glenn was such a charming, outgoing and personable fellow. He loved people and was active in so many groups -- 3 Metro area cycle clubs, part of 8 Minnesota RIDER Clubs here, plus the MMRA, AMA, and more special cycle group events. He and I enjoyed being a part of the LCOC (Lincolnn Club) and Trish often came along for a breakfast, lunch or dinner to enjoy the fellowship of classic car people and ooooo and aaaaahhhhhh over the many magnificent vicent vehicles. Glenn was an active part of a Speakers' Club --and he had a well-developed voice from his time as a radio announcer --they all loved "his pipes". And, of course, he took part in lots of Chambers of Commerce and Insurance business groups. He was a real "people person". Few could match his exciting personality.

My dear father, and both daughters just loved Glenn -- Glenn gave the eulogy at Dad's funeral --both here in Brooklyn Center and at Faribault, MN. He was truly a "member of the family". It was such fun to be with Glenn and exchange the sister/brother-like bantor we did. Fun is something to be cultivated, worked at, and thoroughly enjoyed --and he did know how to do all of that!

To say I miss this beautiful man is to say the Grand Canyon is "pretty". I am so lucky to have a couple of messages that I saved on my phone's answering device, so I can hear that wonderful voice occasionally and be reminded of this very brief period of time --only 1987 to 2009-- that held so many great and small blessings for me and for my family.

Oh yes, we miss him dearly. He left a great big empty space in this world. He is missed by many ...I'm just one of a virtual army of friends with this "big empty" matched by a heart with a "big hurt" for the loss of such as Glenn Champlin. .....Mavis

Glenn was my very dearest friend and we enjoyed many, many good times together on our "bikes", especially two long trips, one out to Wyoming and one to Kentucky for MRMTC Rallies. We also enjoyed lots of car fun as we took part in the Lincoln (LCOC) Club. He was a truly outstanding gentleman and Trish was the love of his life --her passing was very hard for him -- she was a beautiful lady and I loved her as much as I loved Glenn. My life was blessed by both of them. There's a huge, empty place in my heart and my life without them. We never realize how much we'll miss someone until they are gone. They both are in my prayers as are the family members. They were a beautiful team ...and I'm certain they are enjoying their partnership once more up in Heaven. God's blessings on them. .......Mavis

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
