Glenn Frey Obituary
Age 63, passed away of a massive heart attack on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 15, 1949, to Albin T. Frey and Genevieve M. Middleton. Glenn married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth A. Frey. He retired as a pilot for Ross Aviation and worked for the City of Albuquerque, Transit Department. Glenn proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, playing the drums to the oldies and spoiling his dog, Jackson. Glenn was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Albin T. Frey and mother, Genevieve M. Middleton. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Anne Frey of Albuquerque; six children, Christina (Joe) Chavez of Albuquerque, Cynthia Frey of Albuquerque, Douglas (Carrey) Frey of Phoenix, AZ, Cecilia Frey of Albuquerque, Catherine Frey of Albuquerque, and Carol Anne Frey of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie (Danny) Thomas, Anthony (Froozan) Chavez, Jennifer Clouser, Kyla Chavez, Victoria Chavez, Ryan Frey, Daniel Chavez, Elena Frey, Sara Frey, Nicole Frey, Audrey Frey and expecting triplets great-grandchildren this summer; siblings, Meridele Karen and family of NY, Daryl Frey of NY, Roberta (Tom) Dietz of FL, Wayne (Kathy) Frey of NY, and Verlaine Frey of NY .
A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Boulevard NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary, also at St. Jude Thaddeus. Interment will follow with military honors at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Glenn was amazed and excited to be a great-grandfather of triplets. An account has been established at U.S. Bank in his name for memorial donations if that is your preference. Liz and Family,
We are lifting you and your family up in prayer. We are asking The Lord to help you all get through this very sad time. We only found out today Sun., March 10th that Glenn passed away. We will never forget sharing a fence with you in the late 70's into the mid 80's. Our kids remember playing with your kids. Your family and our family moved to the west side of town and we joined the same church. We've seen you several times in Mass. My only regret is that we let the time go by and we never got together. Life is short and now we realize that it's even shorter than we thought. We believe in eternal life just as you do and we will all see Glenn again. Glenn is with The Lord now!

Liz and family,
I've been thinking of Glenn and you all day and spent most of the day and night with nothing but great memories of our friendship. It seems like yesterday that we were all teens on Long Island with few real cares. Life was so much simpler then. I remember Glenn and I thinking we would be "rock stars" in the late 60's, our endless nights at the Hi-Way, being a part of your wedding, and can never forget my one and only flight lesson with Glenn, and how we were stranded one night in Gallup NM. I only regret that we didn't get to see each other more frequently! Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers, and that I share a deep sense of loss.
