Glenn Harvey Hoppe, Jr.

Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Glenn Harvey Hoppe, Jr. passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 27, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Glenn had a brief but very brave fight with cancer.

Glenn was born July 15, 1955 to Glenn, Sr. and Gladys Hoppe in Winters. He was a graduate of Winters High School Class of 1973. Glenn met and married the love of his life Mattie "Melinda" Hill on June 3, 1978. Their daughter Chanda Rae was born September 11, 1980 and their son Christopher Glenn was born June 8, 1984.

Glenn had a career of many trades in the Winters area, including rancher, farmer and oil industry. Glenn was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters where he served on the church council. Additionally, Glenn served as President of the Winters Junior Livestock Association and the Runnels County Junior Livestock board. Glenn also proudly served on the North Runnels Hospital Board of Directors. Glenn was an avid fisherman and cheerleader for his children and grandchildren.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father Glenn Harvey Hoppe, Sr. and mother Gladys Marie Schroeder Hoppe.

Glenn is survived by his wife Melinda; his children Chanda Moseley (Reagan Moseley) and Chris Hoppe (Danna Hoppe); grandchildren Madison Moseley, Braden Hoppe, Jase Moseley, and Brianne Hoppe; his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Winters Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery.
