Hersey - Glenn Joseph McVeigh, age 91, died peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at his home on the Muskegon River in Hersey, Michigan. He was born May 4, 1933, in Flint to Raymond and Anna (Jourdin) McVeigh. Glenn graduated from St. Michael's High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Michigan State University. He subsequently earned an advanced degree in business management from the Harvard Business School. On September 17, 1955, he was married in Flint to Lois Jean Seidenwand, who preceded him in death in 2014. Glenn served as a jet pilot instructor in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1959 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain on January 23, 1959. He worked in public accounting in Detroit before joining Michigan National Bank, where he served as Treasurer of Michigan National Corporation and retired as the President of Michigan National Bank-West Metro. Glenn enjoyed private aviation and maintained a commercial multi-engine rating well into his senior years. He was an avid fly fisherman of both fresh and saltwater species. Glenn enjoyed gardening and looked forward annually to harvest time. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Glenn is survived by five of his children, Raymond (Kimberlee) McVeigh, Maureen Tomlinson, Suanne (Roger) Brow, Martha (Mitch) Dobrzelewski and Brent (Lisa) McVeigh, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Anna McVeigh, his siblings Carl Roeser, Cordelia (Roeser) Spencer and Colleen McVeigh, his wife Lois McVeigh, his son Brian McVeigh and his grandson Michael Buehrer.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. at 17335 Rapids Drive, Hersey, MI. A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on October 21, 2024, with visitation starting at noon, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at New Calvary Cemetery in Flint following the service on October 21.
