Glenn Orlando Obituary

Published by The New Orleans Advocate from Jul. 30 to Aug. 1, 2014.
Glenn Salvadore Orlando passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014, at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Keenie Breeland and Salvadore Orlando. Glenn's care was lovingly entrusted to his cousins Anthony, Janet, Tony, and Stephanie Genusa, following the death of his mother Keenie. He will be sorely missed by a host of relatives and friends. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we lovingly return him the tender embrace of his mother in her heavenly home with our Lord. Glenn was a Kenner native, but lived in Metairie and Harahan most of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He looked forward to his job at Lee's Hamburgers. Glenn enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to sing, dance, bowl, and travel; but most of all he loved his family and friends. The true meaning of love was understood by all whose lives he touched. Our deepest gratitude to the caregivers at The Magnolia School as well as Canon Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the chapel of L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Magnolia School, Inc., 100 Central Avenue, Jefferson, LA 70121. To view and sign the online guest book, please visit www.muhleisen.com.

I met Glenn while I was renting a house on Georgia Drive in Metairie. We became close friends. I was going through a very stressful time in my life, and it was so calming and restful to spend time with Glenn when I got home every day. He was lie an angel to me.

We were saddened to hear of Glenn's passing. He touched the lives of so many people wherever he went. My Nanny (Glenn's mother) spoiled him in every way possible as long as she was able and he deserved nothing but the best! Glenn certainly lived life his way! He certainly enjoyed being with the O'Shello's and we wouldn't have had it any other way. We love you Glenn! You are now reunited with your loving mother. May you rest in peace.

Glenn was a caring and out going person. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Glenn mostly enjoyed spending quality time with my mom and dad especially on Sundays eating meatballs and spaghetti. He also loved when my mom made his favorite home made cookies. We will miss you!!!!

Glenn attended the Dale School for Special Children. I had the pleasure of teaching him as well as all of our little angels. He was an extreme pleasure. God Bless The Family and Glenn is on the last row sitting down for our Mardi Gras Ball. He loved all things.
