Glenn E. Sansing, age 97, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, in Jenks, OK. He was born July 18, 1912 in Muskogee to William and Lillian (Hansen) Sansing. Glenn was a lifelong resident of Muskogee, graduating from Central High School. He was a survivor of both the Great Depression and World War II. Glenn held many different jobs and learned to do well with little. He retired after twenty years of service with Muskogee Electric Traction Company. Glenn had a lifelong interest in steam locomotives and nostalgic music, especially the theatre organ. He was very creative and enjoyed building and creating handcraft items.Glenn married Ruth Ayres in July of 1935 and after 54 years of marriage she preceded him in death along with his parents; their son, Elden Sansing; and Glenn's brother Edgar Sansing.Glenn is survived by his daughter, Glenda Wheeler of Bixby; grandson, Jeff Wheeler of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter , Vicky Hilgers and her husband, Ward of Mulvane, KS; and two great grandchildren, Miles and Maeve Hilgers of Mulvane, KS as well as many other friends and loved ones.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Kris Drees officiating.Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
