Glen J. Stambaugh, age 77 of Greenbrier died Wednesday August 19, 2009 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1931 in Sitka, KY to the late George H. and Charlotte Leek Stambaugh, in addition to his parents, his first wife, Barbara R. Stambaugh and siblings, Ernest, Troy, Mary Ramey, Virgil, William, Sarah Mae Howe and Warren G. also preceded him in death. Mr. Stambaugh was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenbrier having served as a deacon, trustee and former treasurer. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean conflict and was retired from Eastern Airlines. Funeral services were held at 1 pm on August 22, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Greenbrier, officiated by Dr. Fred Baldwin and Rev. Robert LeMay. Burial with military honors followed in Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Friday August 21, 2009 from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Surviving Mr. Stambaugh are his wife, Judy Stambaugh of Greenbrier, sons, Dave (Emily) Stambaugh of Springfield, Jeff (Jeree) Stambaugh of TX, Carl (Paige) Koegler of FL, daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Darrin) McClure of Martin, TN, brother, Harry Douglas Stambaugh of KY and grandchildren, Caleb, Seth, Sarah, Ben and Anna Stambaugh, Josephine Koegler and Miles McClure. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Greenbrier Benevolent Fund. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
