Glenn Strand Obituary

Glenn T. STRAND M.D. Glenn T. Strand, M.D. passed away peacefully on Thursday May 15, 2008 at the age of 83 as a result of Alzheimer's Disease and complications. He was a lifelong resident of Seattle, a graduate of Franklin High School, the University of Washington, and the University of Washington School of Medicine, 1952. After completing his Internship and Residency in Psychiatry at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Seattle, he was in private practice of Psychiatry in Seattle from 1956 until his retirement in 2004. During World War II, he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 28th Infantry Division in France and Germany. Glenn was a man of musical ability. He was a patron of Northwest Arts and was a strong supporter of the Seattle Pro Musica choral ensemble. He was also an avid skier and tennis player. He is survived by his daughter, Jan G. Strand, her husband Peter J. Hemmen and Jean E. Strand. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 27th at Epiphany Parish of Seattle, 1805 38th Ave, Seattle. Memorial donations may be made to Seattle Pro Musica, 1756 N.W. 56th St, Seattle, WA 98107.
