Gloria Buonocore Obituary
Gloria Buonocore, 73, went to join the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2012 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Buonocore and her parents, Sam and Kitty Heyman. She is survived by her children, Theresa and Blaise Coco, Philadelphia PA; Robin and Charles Mott, Chenango Bridge, NY; Dawn and Doug Haven, Boca Raton, FL; Cherylann and Michael Taramykin, Lake Mary, FL; Carolyn and Michael Showalter, Apalachin, NY; grandchildren, Karen and John Orrio; Joshua Haven, Katherine and Andrew Taramykin, Krysondra Willms, Rachel and Lena Showalter; sisters, Barbara and Hillel Pitlik, CA; Joan and Stu Zimmer, Long Island, NY; also 5 nephews. Gloria was a retired employee of Rehabilitation Associates and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was also a founding member of the Southern Tier Tea Party and was actively involved in St. Catherine and St. Francis of Assisi as a religious education teacher, Eucharistic Minister and co-founder of their bereavement ministry and RCIA.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, February 17, 2012 at 9:15 AM at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and continue at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in Holy Spirit Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Gloria's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

I still think of you often. You were like a mom to me and I loved you so much. I miss phone calls just catching up. I still can't believe youre not here anymore. I know that you are with Dad and the two of you are fine but I stil miss you. Christmas Eve will never ever be the same again. I love you.

Oh my God. I am heartsick. I just went to call your mom, Robin, and imagine my devastation when I found this. I was in rehab and no clue that your mom had passed. I am so sorry. I don't know what to say, I am in shock right now. Please get in touch with me.

As a teenager I was going through some rough times. Gloria took me in,made me part of her family and made all of the difference in my life. I have since taken in other teenagers and tried to follow her example. She touched my life at a critical time and I will never forget her. She lives on in all those she has touched. The love she gave and the kindness she showed will never die.

Words escape me now... Mrs. B was a great friend and mentor to me. I'm quite upset that I missed the services, but it was unavoidable. To Robin, Dawn, Cheryl, and Carolyn... you will always be like family to me. I love you guys and please, if you need anything, let me know... God Bless You "Mommy B" I love you!!

This weekend I said my final farewell to an Aunt whom I have loved like a mother and who has been there for me in every way imaginable since the day I was born. I am very sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. We were very active in early years at St Catherines church and rosary society. We had the best time and many many laughs. I am sure she is in heaven laughing with Jesus.

I was fortunate to have "Mrs. B" as a customer for the past several years, but my blessing was to get to know her during this time. It didn't take long to get to know her as a five minute discussion told you everything you needed to know - she loved God and her kids above all else and her values and motivation in life were clearly on display. Those topics were purposefully woven into every discussion I have had with her. What a wonderful woman who was always kind and delightful to see. I am saddened by her loss but joyful in knowing God had her place ready for her. My prayers are with "Mrs. B's" family just as I am sure her prayers are with us.

I never knew Gloria as Gloria for the longest time. She was always known as Gigi. She always made you smile and laugh. You always knew she would give you her opinion wether you wanted it or not, haha. She was very strong for everyone. Im so glad she was part of my family, thanks to my mom, Elsie, her best friend. My condolences to the family, and many friends of Gloria. My heart goes out to her sisters and their families, her daughters and their families, her nephews and nieces and their families. Gloria is truly one of those rare individuals that just her presence eases everything . Her motivation, determination and inner peace provide inspiration and hope, to all of the lives she touched. Gloria is well loved and we will all have a void in our lives that will never be filled. I know she would not want me to think like that and focus on the positive. To think of her as she lived, and not dwell upon her passing. We all know she is watching us right now, her and Frank. Gloria’s faith lets us know she is in a better place and by the grace of God we will all be able to see her and all our loved ones again. She is loved and will be missed by everyone she touched. I know I am one of them.
