Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 10 to Mar. 12, 2023.
Gloria Dolores Marin, age 81, went to be with our Lord on March 8, 2023, after a long illness. She was born on August 30, 1941, in Clovis, NM. She was a lifetime resident of Clovis before moving to Las Cruces, NM.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lucero, and mother, Anna Dominguez; brothers, Frank Villa, and Tony Villa; son, Carlos Riviers; and son-in-law, David McSpadden Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Antonio (Tony) Marin; daughters, Yolanda McSpadden of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Norvella (Darrell) Krivanek of Blanchard, OK; sons, Frank (Melissa) Barrera, and Tony (Merranda) Marin both of Las Cruces, NM; sisters, Mary Ester Marin, Clovis NM, Chole Lucero, Vandalia Ohio, and Diana Lucero, Clovis NM; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two great- great children; and nieces and nephews.
Her and her husband owned and operated Marin Roofing in Clovis, NM before retiring to Las Cruces, NM in 2015. Gloria was a strong lady who cared deeply for her family. She was a great homemaker and loving wife and mother. Gloria enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed planting flowers when she could. Gloria liked to crochet and paint statues. Although our mom had a long battle with illness and pain she would often say "there is always someone worse off" something she remembered her daddy saying. She was always there for her family and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 pm Monday, March 13, 2023, at The Chapel of Angels, 1430 Thornton Street. A rosary will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 14, 2023, with Mass of the Resurrection to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Sotero Sena officiating, 108 Davis Street Clovis, NM. Leroy Encinias Jr, Nicolas Marin, Elian Marin, Frank Barrera, Reyes Encinias, Manuel Silva, and Lorenzo Palacios will serve as pallbearers. Intermittent to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens 1601 E Llano Estacado. Arrangements have been entrusted in Muffley Funeral Home, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com, (575) 762-4435.
