Ergang, Vera 7/3/1934 - 3/9/2023 Comstock Park On March 9, 2023 Vera left this world and stepped into the open arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior whom she served faithfully her entire life. Vera was born on March 7, 1934 and passed away just 2 days following her 89th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Grace Guthrie, her brothers Robert, Roy, Homer, Arthur, Lyle and Clare Guthrie, her daughter Bonnie Hunt. Surviving are her husband of 61 years Roger Ergang Sr; children Gary (Diane) Ergang, Marie (Garret) Richardson, Roger (Arelys) Ergang Jr, Ryan (Becky) Ergang; 19 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; sisters Catherine Wood, Betty Guthrie; brother Dwane (Penny) Guthrie; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service and celebration of Vera's life will be held at 11:00am Monday March 13, 2023 at Alpine Baptist Church, 692 7 Mile Road Comstock Park MI. Her family will greet relatives and friends Sunday March 12 from 3PM to 6PM at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe St Rockford MI, and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church. Internment at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Vera's name may be made to Emmanuel Hospice. She was a loving mother to all 5 of her children. As the years went by her love was then extended to her grandchildren and then to her great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed searching for that great bargain at garage sales, her Traverse City and Canadian fishing trips with dad, Uncle Junior and Aunt Dorothy. After her children had all left the home, Mom found her passion for real estate. She knew that this vocation was meant for her because it allowed her to meet new people and help them find homes for their families. For 22 years she worked and excelled in the business until she was unable to keep up with the technology changes in the industry. Following retirement from her real estate career, she would spend the winters in Sebring, Florida with lots of friends and visitors at Maranatha Village. Mom will be remembered for her hospitality and willingness to fix a meal for whoever visited her home. She always welcomed people to "just stop by for a visit" and then stay for a meal, and she often proclaimed, "if you leave the table hungry it's your own fault." Even following her Dementia diagnosis she remained a joyful spirit with a perpetual smile. Mom will also be remembered by her Love for her Savior and everyone who came across her path.
