Glynn Scobey

Glynn Scobey, 79, of Newbern, died Friday, April 15, 2011 at Paris Health Care in Paris, Tenn. He was owner of Glynn Scobey Game Calls, a retired employee of Choctaw Transportation, a member of Trimble First Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Roger Glynn Bell and Dr. Bill Oakley officiating. Burial will be in McCorkle Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Glynda Scobey Terry of Paris, Tenn.; a son, Dennis Scobey of Dyersburg; grandchildren Roger Glynn Bell of Dyersburg, Xanne Bell Harrison of Paris, Tenn., Trevor Scobey of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Dillon Scobey of Finley; and great-grandchildren Gavin Bell, Kera Bell, Sophie Harrison, Ava Harrison and Sam Harrison. He was preceded in death byhis wife, Sylvia Flatt Scobey; three sisters, Sunny Heathcott, Hazel Balthrop and Lurlene Thompson. Pallbearers will be Perry Nichols, Richard Park, Johnny Stafford, Rusty Isbell, Matt Stafford and Eddie Ray Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Carpenter, Orlan Heathcott and Scotty Heathcott.
