Marjorie CARPENTER

CARPENTER, Marjorie E. Marjorie Carpenter died in Saskatoon Tuesday, August 13 at the age of 91. From 1928 to 1934, Marjorie was a member of Saskatoon's first girl group, and with her sister Kay, sang popular songs over the radio. Marjorie married Paul Carpenter in 1937 and moved to Edmonton where she bore two sons, Peter (in Toronto) and David (in Saskatoon). She will be remembered for her role as neighbourhood poet, for her love of books, dancing, singing and laughing. She will be interred on September 28 at Glendow Graveyard near Saskatoon.
