Gordon Bright

Gordon R. Bright COEBURN, Va. Gordon R. Bright, 86, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. He was owner and operator of the Gulf Triangle Service Station. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the World War II and was in the second wave in the battle of Iwo Jima. Past president of Kiawanis Club and worked with the Little League and Boy Scouts. He was the son of the late Ingle H. Bright and Augusta L. Bright. Also preceded in death by three sisters, June Brown, Edna L. Jessee and Hazel Oliver; two brothers, Claude Hiskle Bright and Arthur Bright. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Virginia Bright; two sons, Robert Ingle Bright, Coeburn and Jerry Wayne Bright, Ft. Myers, Fla.; three sisters, Jo LaCounte, Reno, Nev., Linda Koff, Albany, N.Y., and Sharon Holub, Loudonville, N.Y.; one brother, Bobby S. Bright, Mt. Sidney, Va.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Gordon requested to be cremated and no memorial service. Also family request no flowers. Estes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
