I met Gordon when I was 2-3 years old. He was our long time neighbor in Woodland on Elm and Grafton. He was the friendly face we call came to know and love. He and my dad Joe would stand in the street and chat for hours. I used to play over at his house with his daughter (when he was with Paulette) and her at my house when we were very young! I will miss catching up with him when he would come back to Woodland to tend to the house. Rest in peace to our long time friend of the family

Gordon was knowledgeable, sweet and kind. He taught a lot of QA employees including myself. Hunt's was lucky to get him during the season. Even though he will be missed it was nice to see all the wonderful postings from people I still remember and enjoyed working with too.

Gordon was my neighbor for 15 years. He was friendly , matter-of-fact, and always helpful . Predicaments such as a flat tire, recommendation for emergency yard work , sharing personal stories...he would try to help. Other folks know that Gordon would tell you truth about anything. He was patient, yet sugar-coating was not possible . (grin)
One of the things we connected on was our appreciation of pets and the various creatures we mutually had in our respective yards. Small reptiles were a favorite of his as well as doves.
Reading the stories that everyone here has shared has inevitably added depth and insight to someone who had touched many.

Hello yall, we are Gordys Nieghbors up in woodland ca. Gordy lived behind us on his corner lot. We moved here in 1980 and immediately became really good friends with Gordy . Me and my wife remember Gordys smile from ear to ear and sue as well. "Awesome people"When he was not here I would ask him if he needed help with his yard. He said yes and I´ll pay you . I said no just a filet fish will do. We did this for many years and always looked out for him even when people broke into his house twice. Through the years we saw less of Gordy so we would call gordy and check in. We will miss Gordy forever. It´s so sad to know that he is gone but not forgotten.
We look out to his house every day, Rest in peace my friend, Miss you already

Nine years ago I got a phone call from "an old family friend" to meet for lunch, only to find out I was actually having lunch with my brother, Gordon. Throughout these past nine years we formed something real- something that made it feel like we´d know each other forever.
Getting to know Gordon wasn´t just learning who he was,- it was about discovering a part of myself I didn´t even know was missing. We shared stories, laughter, and even teased each other like brothers do. It didn´t take long before there was this natural connection between us. We may not have shared a childhood, but we built a bond in adulthood that I will always treasure. He had this way of making me feel like family-not in a forced or formal way, but with a simple kind of acceptance that made it easy to be around him. What I´ve come to realize is that family isn´t always defined by how much time you´ve had together-it´s defined by the depth of the connection, by the love that´s shared. And in those nine years, we built a relationship that mattered, one I´ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
Gordon, I wish we had more time. I wish I´d known you sooner. But I´m so incredibly grateful I got to know you at all. You changed my life by being in it, and I will miss you deeply.
Rest easy, big brother.

I work many of years with Gordon, he must of own 10 boats none of them ran but he was always working on them. He told me once the he could make peace in the middle east in ten minutes , he never told me how but I think he thought he could. If you ever went fishing with him he was always scanning the shore line for junk he thought he could use somewhere. He was a friend for life and a buddy for life . He will be missed by many. I hope there is a cannery where he is going because they can use him .....dick masuda

I worked with Gordon at Hunt-Wesson Foods in the QA Department with a group of guys who were friends for life; staying in touch even though I left Hunt-Wesson and moved to San Jose; Gordon and friends would drive up to San Jose to spend a weekend and just have a great time. While the rest of us drank and smoked, Gordon stayed clean and sober. I always admired him, will keep my memories with me always. Linda Baccus

Gordon and I have worked at Hunt-Wesson and later at ConAgra Foods. He was a thorough gentleman whom any one can stop by for a non judgmental chat. He and I worked very closely at Newport for one straight month not coming home to California. After a long day we hosed the work area to remove the "Ketchup and Tomato purée slush"! Then comes dinner and it ways filled with fun and laughter which I will always treasure. Thank you and so long Gordon!

Ted and Tom are spot on in capturing Gordon. I saw the movie "Jeremiah Johnson" with Gordon and Sue a long time ago and he identified with that character. At the same time he could be counted on to make a useful contribution to the success of every workgroup he participated in.
If you are lucky in life, you'll meet someone who you can say, "I wouldn't be what I am today if I hadn't met that guy". Gordon Farrimond was that kind of guy for me.
I met him as a temporary hire at CQC (Central Quality Control) at HW Foods in the summer of 1973. I was right out of college and somewhat adrift. CQC was the right place to land. A great group of people worked there. Gordon extended his hand to me, much like I would see him do for others over the years.
It all started with regular after-work runs around the track at Fullerton Junior College with some of the other CQC guys. Gordon became a trusted confidant and a family friend. We went fishing at the ocean and up at the Sacramento delta; snorkeling at the beach, skiing at Mammoth, camping at Tioga Pass; trips to the swap meet, meals at Mexicasa.
He had a great laugh, a quick sense of humor and a welcoming smile. When Gordon spoke to you, his attention was fully on you. He would extend a hand of support when you needed it, and a kick in the butt when you needed that.
We would sometimes not see each other for years, but is was always easy and welcoming to "catch up" and reminisce. The last time I saw Gordon was just before Covid at Mexicasa.
He still owes me a Combination Plate #1 from there. I'm not letting him off the hook for that. Until then, old friend.

Ted is so right, Gordon always was a man you can count on to give you a straight answer. When we had a major issue during the season, Gordon was on the scene. He seemed to work around the clock, was always calm , had a sense of humor , and a smile. He explained issues clearly and was very accurate on the timing to correct the problem and get up to speed. . It was always fun seeing him at meetings, he knew what was important and what wasn´t. Thanks for your help Gordon .

My husband and I worked with Gordon for many years at Hunt Wesson- Con Agra. Gordon and John would always banter back and forth with each other with neither ever giving in. The fun part of it was they actually enjoyed it and always walked away the best of friends. Gordon was a very good person and had the respect of all. He will be missed by many. May he RIP. I worked with Gordon at Hunt-Wesson years ago. He reminded me of "Grizzly Adams", the mountain man from the TV series. He was tough and manly, yet was also; calm, thoughtful, a deep thinker and extremely kind.
During tomato season when traveling and working away from home, it was always a pleasure to share a table with Gordon. You knew meal time conversation would be deep and far reaching and he was just a great guy to hang out with.
A great guy, a real gentleman!
RIP Gordon.
