Gordon was born July 25, 1913, in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Elvin and Minnie (Gordon) Gill. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1934. Gordon was a switchman for the Chicago Northwestern RR for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma J. Gill, in 1996; and brother, Carl Gill.
Gordon is survived by his son, Gordon F. Gill and wife, Jan, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Eileen K. Powers, of Templeton, Calif.; grandchildren, Craig Gill, Coleen Triplett and husband, Marc; great grandchildren, Bradley Triplett, Danielle Gill and Sara Triplett.
Private graveside service and burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.

My condolences to the Gill family. Mr. Gordon A. Gill was the friend of my father Charles A. Broman and my uncle Bernard Beryle Broman. They attended Abraham Lincoln High School.
