Gordon Lundell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2024.
Girard - Gordon R. Lundell passed away at his home in the care of his family and wife by his side on September 22, 2024.

Gordon was born July 25, 1949 to Fridolf Lundell and Helen Appleby Lundell. He graduated from Fairview High School and immediately joined the U.S.M.C. where he was deployed to Vietnam and served with the Fifth Marines, acquiring numerous medals and accommodations. He also attended Edinboro University with a major in Art.

Gordon was a quiet man with a big heart. He was an avid golfer and would share many stories hole by hole until he fell out of a tree and severely breaking both wrists - so much for golf! He also loved playing his guitar and riding his Harley Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his father Fridolf Lundell, mother Helen Appleby Lundell, older brother Fridolf O. Lundell, youngest sister Heidi Lundell Potter, nephew Jeramy Smith, brother-in-law Frank Desta and sister-in-law Vernita Kosiorek.

He is survived and missed by his wife of 33 years, Jeanne Testi Lundell. Beloved stepfather to Carrie (Paul) Fillak of Erie, PA and Christy (Mike) Gonda of Greensburg, PA, his grandchildren, Mason Fillak, Ava Fillak, Olivia Fillak and Alayna Gonda. He is also survived by his brother Neil (Jan) Lundell, sister Christine (Randy) Rounds, sister-in-law Lynn Akerly, brothers-in-law, Vern (Roseann) Testi, Richard (Cheryl) Testi, many nieces and nephews and longtime friend Dan Feldman.

In honor of Gordon's wishes, his brother Neil will spread his ashes on one final motorcycle ride.

Friends and family will be invited to a celebration of life at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. I have many positive memories of him, including his time spent in Viet Nam serving our country. He was so eager to enlist and join his brother Neil defending our country. He was a free-spirited, unique human being. He is reunited with his parents, nephew, big brother, friends that were lost along the way, and his little sis. Rest in Peace Gordon.

Jeanne, You have my deepest sympathies.
I unapologetic-ally loved Gordon!! Since we moved to Fl we lost touch, that's on me. My Father introduced us. We were both FOB. and with our love of golf a friendship was born. He loved, loved golf!! But please make no mistake about it, Gordon love Jeanne more than anything!! That beautiful man taught me about love and self respect. There is a space in my heart that will never be filled. Rest in peace my dear friend.
