Coach Maddux was a wonderful guy. He was a significant mentor to me in many ways. For example, he encouraged me to attend Cal State Los Angeles (I was recruited to the wrestling team). I used to drop by his office quite often. He always had encouraging words for me. I am very grateful that I got the chance to know him and will always remember him fondly (Number 6: 24-26)

Gordon Maddix was by brother's ( Terry Nevin) gymnast coach at Pleasant Hill Hifh High School. Terry always had the utmost respect for Coach Maddux. Terry is gone too, maybe they will meet again in gymnastic heaven.

Coach Maddox was gymnastics coach at Pleasant Hill High School during the '56 and '57 era. My only event with the gymnastics team was the rope climb. It was a good event for me having recovered from polio just a year before. I was pretty quick with the climb. Coach Maddox was great to me. I always liked watching him narrating the olympics.

Mr. Maddux was my eight grade teacher and he at that time was young and energetic, an excellent teacher who related to all of us kids. He taught at Pleasant Hill Elementary School before going to Pleasant Hill High. I so fondly remember him and send my condolences to his family.

Gordon Maddux was my gymnastics coach at Pleasant Hill High School in 1957-58. He was a great inspiration and brought out the best in all who knew him. Thank you Coach Maddux.

Would see him often when I was a student at California State University Los Angeles. He was always friendly and helpful. I'm sure he was a wonderful coach.
