Gordy,

You were always such a great friend to my dad, Tom Breno. He truly lost his best friend the day you died. I have fond memories of our many summers at Lincoln City. You will be missed Gordy.

Gordy, you were my boss when I started working my FIRST job at Lombard Thriftway back in 1986. You taught me about hard work, taking care of our customers and always keep a positive attitude -lessons I've carried with me my entire life. Even after I left Portland and joined the Army, I always looked forward to coming home and catching up. I am honored to call you my friend and words can't express enough how much you will be missed. I still recall all the weekends, late nights and hard work stocking shelves, unloading pallets, mopping floors and sweeping the parking lot. Sometimes I think I was most happy those days when I was making only $3.35 an hour. I think that speaks to the kind of person you were. We all respected you and enjoyed working with you. Most of all, you made coming to work fun.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your wife and children. I'll miss you buddy!

Linda and family,
Both Cathie and myself send our sincere condolences to you all.
Gordy and I go back a long way (grade school) and had some great times together.
My mother was a big fan of his and enjoyed his sense of humor. She always told people that if she was ever hospitalized the one person she would want to come visit her was "Gordo".
When that time came (over 40 years ago)
he was there and it meant a lot to her.
What a guy! He'll be missed for a long time.
